The company

Abu Dhabi roots. UAE reach. Enterprise discipline.

UBM combines technology products, implementation expertise, security and lifecycle services into one accountable relationship, so the cable in the wall and the model in production answer to the same team.

Profile

What UBM actually is

UBM (Univest Business Machines) is an IT infrastructure solution provider based in Abu Dhabi. We work with government entities, schools and universities, hotels, developers and facilities teams, and commercial organisations across the United Arab Emirates.

The company was built around one observation: infrastructure projects rarely fail at the technology. They fail in the gaps: between the cabling contractor and the network integrator, between the security installer and the IT department, between whoever sold the hardware and whoever has to keep it alive on a Friday night.

UBM removes the gaps by owning all of it. Six solution domains, a six-stage service lifecycle that runs from planning to disposal, and eleven departments, arranged behind a single accountable relationship.

Direction

Where we are going, and how

01

Vision

To be the UAE's most trusted partner for integrated, secure and future-ready technology infrastructure.

Trust is the operative word. In this market it is earned on the second project, not the first.

02

Mission

To design, implement, support and continuously improve technology environments that create lasting value for UAE organisations.

Design, implement, support, improve. The four verbs are deliberate, and none of them is optional.

Core values

Six values, stated as behaviour

A value that cannot be observed on site is decoration. Each of these describes something a client can actually check.

01 of six

  1. 01

    Customer satisfaction

The project is not finished at handover.

    In practice

Success is whether the environment still behaves six months later, which is why the team that supports it is the team that built it.

  2. 02

    Partnership

Vendors are chosen for the job, not for the margin.

    In practice

We hold authorised relationships across hardware, network, software and security precisely so a specification can follow the requirement instead of the stock list.

  3. 03

    Professional and technical expertise

Documented before deployment, tested against the document after.

    In practice

Cabling test results, rack elevations, IP schedules and configuration backups are part of the handover pack, not a favour granted later.

  4. 04

    Personal initiative

The person who notices the problem owns the problem.

    In practice

Engineers are expected to raise the thing nobody asked about: the unlabelled patch panel, the switch with no warranty left, the camera pointed at a wall.

  5. 05

    Environmental awareness

What we take out of the building is our problem too.

    In practice

Kit is sized to the measured workload, not to the tender. Power and cooling are designed for at the rack and at the edge, not left to the building to absorb. Every device we remove leaves on a tracked route: data wiped and certified, serviceable units returned for reuse or vendor take-back, the rest handed to a licensed e-waste handler. Disposal is a lifecycle stage we run, not a skip in the car park.

  6. 06

    Health and safety

Nobody works at height on a shortcut.

    In practice

Method statements, risk assessments and site induction come before anyone opens a ladder, a ceiling tile or a live panel.

How we work

Four attributes you can hold us to

  1. 01

    Local

Engineers based in Abu Dhabi, working to the procurement, documentation and inspection norms this market already expects.

  2. 02

    Integrated

Cabling, hardware, network, software, security and AI specified against one another: one design, one handover pack.

  3. 03

    Accountable

One project manager, one escalation path, one number. No vendor list handed over when something fails at 02:00.

  4. 04

    Future-ready

Built to carry the next thing: more sites, more cameras, AI workloads and tighter compliance, without starting again.

Organisation

Eleven departments, one relationship

The client talks to one of these and hears back from one of these. The other ten are already in the room.

Client One accountable relationship
01

Growth + Client

Understands the requirement before anything is specified, and stays the visible face of the relationship afterwards.

  1. Sales 01
  2. Marketing 02
02

Business Control

Holds commitments, cost, compliance and people in line so delivery never has to negotiate with itself.

  1. Management 03
  2. Accounting & Finance 04
  3. People 05
  4. Administration 06
03

Delivery + Operations

Designs it, installs it, tests it, moves it, then runs the technical services that keep it working.

  1. Planning 07
  2. ELV 08
  3. Physical Security 09
  4. Technical Team 10
  5. Logistics 11
Fig. 01 Organisation model: three functions, eleven departments, a single line of accountability to the client.

ELV covers the extra-low-voltage trades: structured cabling, CCTV, access control and the containment they live in. The Technical Team is the engineering bench beside it, carrying technical services across hardware, network, software and support, from configuration to fault resolution. Both sit inside delivery rather than outside it, which is the whole point.

Why UBM

Six reasons that survive a reference call

Ask anyone we have worked for about these six specifically. They are the ones that change how a project actually runs.

  1. 01

One contract covers the wall and the workload.

The cable in the ceiling, the switch it lands on, the server behind it, the software on top and the model reading the data all sit inside the same agreement.

  2. 02

Passive and active are designed together.

Most network faults are cabling faults. We install, test and document the passive layer ourselves, so the active layer has something honest to sit on.

  3. 03

Security is one posture, not two budgets.

CCTV and video management are specified alongside endpoint, network and threat protection, with one escalation path across both.

  4. 04

    AI is treated as infrastructure.

Readiness and secure data foundations come before assistants and analytics, because AI projects fail on access and data quality long before they fail on the model.

  5. 05

The lifecycle is staffed, not promised.

Planning, procurement, deployment, operation, maintenance and disposal are six stages of one team, not six line items handed to three suppliers.

  6. 06

You are handed the documentation, not just the system.

Cabling test results, rack elevations, IP and VLAN schedules, camera positions and configuration backups leave with you at handover. If you replace us in three years, the next team can read the estate instead of surveying it again.

Bring us the awkward part of the project.

The floor that never got cabled properly, the CCTV nobody owns, the AI pilot with nowhere safe to put its data. That is the conversation we are useful in.
